'Threads of Duty', which has been co-curated by Newcastle University Museums, Galleries, Heritage Studies Newcastle staff, Katie Markham, alongside Bethan Harries with funding from the Catherine Cookson fund and Sociology Impact Fund.
Working with the artist Mani Kambo and a group of veterans over 3 workshops, Threads of Duty brings together historic textile collections from the Kings Own Scottish Borderers Museum with newly created works. The exhibition asks us to reflect on the role of textiles and crafting in everyday regimental histories and life.

The exhibition explores handcrafted objects and embroidered fabrics made by soldiers in times of conflict, alongside new responses by King’s Own Scottish Borderers members, created with artist Mani Kambo and Newcastle University. There’s also an opportunity to create your own response.
